Green Rating Programs

  • BOMA 360 Performance Program
    BOMA 360 is a building designation program that recognizes excellence in building operations and management based on industry best practices administered by BOMA International.
  • BOMA BEST
    BOMA BEST is Canada’s largest environmental assessment and certification program for existing buildings administered by BOMA Canada.
  • BREEAM
    BREEAM is a sustainability assessment method and certification program for all commercial and residential building types and is administered by BRE Global.
  • EPA ENERGY STAR
    • ENERGY STAR certification is awarded to building achieving an ENERGY STAR score of 75 or higher and is administered by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
  • Green Globes
    • The Green Globes is an online assessment for green building design, operations and management administered by the Green Building Initiative (GBI).
  • GRESB
    • GRESB is the portfolio-level standard for environmental, social and governance (ESG) benchmarking for real estate assets. GRESB recognizes the BOMA 360 Performance Program as a green certification for individual building operations.
  • LEED
    LEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is available for all building, community and home project types administered by the U.S. Green Building Council.

  • Advanced Rooftop Unit Campaign
         BOMA has parterned with the Retail Industry Leaders Association, ASHRAE, and the U.S. Department of Energy to promote the significant energy savings opportunity from improved adoption of high efficiency rooftop units (RTUs) and RTU controls.     • Tools and Resources Library
    • EPA Portfolio Manager : A free, interactive energy management tool that allows you to track and assess energy and water consumption across your entire portfolio of buildings in a secure online environment.
    • ENERGY STAR Benchmarking Starter Kit
    • ENERGY STAR® Label : To qualify for the ENERGY STAR, a building must earn a 75 or higher on EPA's 1-100 energy performance scale, indicating that the facility performs better than at least 75% of similar buildings nationwide. The ENERGY STAR energy performance scale accounts for differences in operating conditions, regional weather data, and other important considerations.

  • GSA Sustainable Facilities Tool
    This interactive online tool from the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) helps building managers identify and prioritize cost–effective strategies to make office buildings and workplaces more sustainable. The Sustainable Facilities Tool makes it easy for both government and private–sector property managers to learn about sustainable practices and compare options for their renovation projects.
  • Green Lease Leaders
    Green Lease Leaders recognizes forward-thinking companies and real estate practitioners who break down barriers to high-performance buildings by revolutionizing leases to incorporate energy efficiency and sustainability. Green Lease Leaders was developed by the Institute for Market Transformation with support from the U.S. Department of Energy’s Better Buildings Alliance.

  • BOMI Institute High-Performance Sustainable Buildings (BOMI-HP) Designation
    This three-course program teaches how to apply sustainable initiatives, optimize current and future high-performance building operations, and maximize cost-savings and environmental stewardship.
  • BOMA International Conference Education
    Held in June, BOMA’s annual conference features session on energy efficiency and sustainable practices.
  • BOMA International Webinar Portal
    • Access BOMA International award-winning sustainability program, BOMA Energy Efficiency Program (BEEP), a six-course webinar series that teaches no and low-cost strategies for reducing energy.
