BOMA International Elects 2020-2022 Executive Committee Members

(WASHINGTON, D.C.—July 21, 2020) The Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International elected seven Executive Committee members during its Board of Governors meeting held virtually in late June.

BOMA International’s Executive Committee is responsible for developing the strategic direction and policies for the association. Executive Committee members work with BOMA International officers and executive staff to maximize the effectiveness of BOMA International, while ensuring resources are available to achieve its goals. Executive Committee members serve a minimum term of two years.

The Board of Governors of BOMA International elected the following individuals to the Executive Committee:

  • Kevin Clarke, LEED AP, RPA, Senior Vice President, Property Management, Avison Young, BOMA/Pittsburgh
  • Susan Hammer, LEED AP, BOMI-HP, General Manager, JLL, BOMA/Chicago
  • Christopher Horsley, Executive Vice President, Hokanson Companies, Inc., BOMA/Indianapolis
  • Theotto Lillard, Property Manager, Hubbell Property Management, BOMA/Iowa
  • Steve Broom, South District Manager, Fujitec America, Inc., BOMA/Greater Dallas (Associate Member)

Scott Bennion is a senior property/asset manager for RiverPark Development, overseeing the operations, leasing and financing of close to two million square feet of Class A office and retail space. Bennion served as president of BOMA/Utah in 2017 and has held several other leadership positions on the local level, including chair of the Government Affairs Committee and Membership Committee. Also active on the regional level, he has served as a Board Member and TOBY® Awards judge for the BOMA Pacific Northwest Region. Bennion led BOMA/Utah’s efforts as local host for the 2019 BOMA International Conference & Expo in Salt Lake City and served as chair of the task force and planning committee in the years leading up to the event. Bennion completed a one-year term as chair of BOMA International’s Nominating Committee in 2019.

As Senior Vice President of Property Management for Avison Young, Kevin Clarke oversees property management operations for the firm’s Pittsburgh office portfolio. In his more than 30 years of industry experience, Clarke has handled property management, asset management, facilities management and portfolio management responsibilities for retail, industrial, Class A, B and C office, warehouse and residential properties. He has held every officer position with BOMA/Pittsburgh in addition to various committee chairmanships. Clarke served a two-year term as chair of the BOMA Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) region from 2016 through 2018, and he previously served as co-chair of the BOMA International Building Codes and Voluntary Standards Committee.

Susan Hammer is a 30-year veteran of the commercial real estate industry. As a general manager with JLL, she is responsible for overseeing the firm’s property management services for a 1.1 million-square-foot multi-tenant office building. In 2012, Hammer was recognized by BOMA/Chicago as Property Management Professional of the Year. She has served as chair of the BOMA/Chicago Education Committee and co-chair of the TOBY Committee for more than a decade. She also serves as a TOBY judge on the regional and international levels and is co-vice chair of the BOMA International Awards Committee. Most recently, Hammer participated on a BOMA International task force exploring an alignment between the BOMA 360 and TOBY Awards programs.

Christopher Horsley has more than 20 years of experience in commercial real estate, most of which he has spent with Hokanson Companies, Inc., where he currently serves as executive vice president. Horsley oversees the property management services of a more than seven-million-square-foot portfolio and the construction of an average of 275 projects per year. Horsley currently serves on the BOMA/Indianapolis Board of Directors and recently took part in the BOMA local association’s inaugural Mentorship Program. On the international level, he is an active member of the Standard Methods of Floor Measurement Committee and served as co-chair of the Industrial Floor Measurement Revision Task Force that published a new Industrial Standard earlier this year. He also serves as chair of BOMA International’s Industry Defense Fund (IDF) Oversight Committee and is a member of the Government Affairs Committee. As a member of the Strategic Planning Committee, Horsley also played an integral role in developing the 2019-2023 BOMA International Strategic Plan.

Theotto Lillard has been an active BOMA member since entering the commercial real estate industry in 2016. As a property manager with Hubbell Realty Company of Des Moines, Iowa, Lillard oversees the day-to-day activities within a select portfolio of loss prevention, risk management, safety/security, maintenance, marketing, landscaping, snow removal and tenant build-out. He currently serves as treasurer of BOMA/Iowa and previously served as the local association’s vice president of membership from 2018 through 2019. In 2019, Lillard served as chair of BOMA International’s Emerging Professionals Committee. His efforts as chair included developing and participating in the committee’s first panel discussion at the 2019 BOMA International Conference & Expo in Salt Lake City.

Steve Broom, south district manager with Fujitec America, Inc., has been an active BOMA member since 2000. In Broom’s 20 years of membership, he has held an array of leadership roles on the local, regional and international level. He currently serves on the BOMA/Greater Dallas Board of Directors and the BOMA/Greater Dallas Foundation Board of Trustees, and previously served as chair of the local association’s Networking Committee and Allied Council. Broom has served on the Texas BOMA Board of Directors from 2015 through 2017. Over the past three years, Broom has served as chair of BOMA International’s National Associate Member Council.

Ana Duffy is a sustainability analyst with Hudson Pacific Properties. She is an active member of BOMA/San Francisco, where she currently serves as chair of the Energy & Environment Committee and secretary of the Careers Committee. Duffey has participated in an array of sustainability-related advocacy efforts within her BOMA local association and she is a mentor for college students interested in commercial real estate through the Careers Committee Mentor Match program.
