BOMA's Asset Management Course Series

These courses are targeted for commercial real estate professionals with 5–10 years’ experience. They are designed to help you better understand the function of the asset manager in order to be more valuable to the entire real estate team, from the owner on down.

Course One: Lease Analysis, Valuation, Negotiation and Approval

In 2015, BOMA International launched the Lease Analysis, Valuation, Negotiation and Approval course for property managers. This is the first course in BOMA's Asset Management Series.

Topics in this course include: The Real Estate Asset Manager; Economic Impact on Real Estate Fundamentals and Lease Negotiations; Negotiating Strategies; Parties Involved in the Lease Negotiation; Choosing a Brokerage Team; Deal Transaction Flow; Principal Lease Terms and Provisions; New Lease Case Study; and Value Creation at the Property Level.

The course is approximately two days in length (12-16 hours) and designed to be delivered in a live classroom setting.

This course is targeted for commercial real estate property managers with 5-10 year's of experience.

This course qualifies for continuing professional development credits for the renewal of industry designations, including CMCP and RPA, FMA, and SMA through BOMI International.

Course Two: Measuring Financial Returns

This is the second course in BOMA's Asset Management Series.

Topics in this course include: Measuring Asset Performance Using Financial Benchmarks; Economic and Marketplace Factors Impacting Value, Creating a Pro-Forma Cash Flow Analysis; Measuring Financial Return and Investment Analysis; Capital Markets; Leverage; and Asset Management Software.

The seven-module course is approximately 1.5 days in length (10-12 hours) and designed to be delivered in a live classroom setting.

This course is targeted for commercial real estate property managers with 5-10 year's of experience.

This course qualifies for continuing professional development credits for the renewal of industry designations, including CMCP and RPA, FMA, and SMA through BOMI International.

Course Three: Acquisitions, Dispositions and Underwriting

Acquisitions, Dispositions and Underwriting is the third and final course in the Asset Management Series.

The final course is on real estate asset management–how to maximize an owner’s financial return from real estate-related investments. The focus will be on the asset management of income-producing properties–those used for investment purposes. Topics in this course include: Asset Management Overview; Underwriting; Acquisitions; Dispositions; Ensuring a Smooth Transition; and an Acquisition Case Study.
