BOMA International Honored with 12th ENERGY STAR® Award

At an awards ceremony on April 11, 2019, in Washington, D.C., BOMA International was honored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Department of Energy with a 2019 ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year Sustained Excellence Award for its continued leadership in the area of sustainability and its long-term commitment to energy efficiency in the commercial real estate industry. BOMA International now has received a total of 12 ENERGY STAR awards, making it the most decorated commercial real estate association. In 2009, BOMA International also received the Climate Protection Award, EPA’s highest honor.

BOMA International was in good company at the awards ceremony, as a number of member companies also were honored with 2019 ENERGY STAR awards for their own impressive sustainability efforts and achievements. 2019 Class of BOMA Fellows Announced

BOMA International recently announced its 2019 class of BOMA Fellows. The following individuals have displayed exemplary and sustained contributions to the industry, their profession, the community and BOMA at all levels and have continually answered the call to leadership and service throughout their careers:

  • Randal Froebelius, P.Eng., president & general manager, Equity ICI Real Estate Services Inc., Toronto;
  • James R. Kleeman, RPA, deputy director, World Trade Center Department, Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, New York; and
  • Richard J. McClure, managing director, Kennedy Wilson Properties, Philadelphia.

The honorees will use the "BOMA Fellow" credential after their names and will be called upon to serve BOMA in a variety of capacities, including teaching; mentoring new members and young professionals; identifying future BOMA leaders; authoring articles; and serving as thought leaders to address industry trends.

This year’s class of BOMA Fellows will be honored at BOMA International’s The Outstanding Building of the Year® (TOBY®) Awards banquet on June 25 during the 2019 BOMA International Conference & Expo in Salt Lake City.
