  • Better Buildings:​ Better Buildings is an initiative of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) designed to improve the lives of the American people by driving leadership in energy innovation. Through Better Buildings, DOE partners with leaders in the public and private sectors to make the nation’s homes, commercial buildings and industrial plants more energy efficient by accelerating investment and sharing of successful best practices. BOMA International is a proud founding member of the Better Buildings Alliance.
  • BOMI High-Performance Sustainability Program:  A new 3-course program on sustainable building management, principles, practices and investments. Earn the new High-Performance Certificate and/or Designation.​ is a site that features blog posts, news articles, videos, and more–all focused on high-performance and sustainable thought leadership for property and facility managers. New content is added regularly.​
  • Advanced Rooftop Unit Campaign: BOMA has parterned with the Retail Industry Leaders Association, ASHRAE, and the U.S. Department of Energy to promote the significant energy savings opportunity from improved adoption of high efficiency rooftop units (RTUs) and RTU controls.​ Join the campaign to save energy and money today!

  • BOMA Energy Performance Contracting (BEPC) Model Toolkit: Model contract and supporting documents that allow building owners and operators to execute sophisticated energy efficiency retrofits to existing buildings, developed in partnership with the Clinton Climate Initiative (CCI), major real estate companies and energy service companies (ESCOs).
  • GSA Sustainable Facilities Tool: This interactive online tool from the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) helps building managers identify and prioritize cost–effective strategies to make office buildings and workplaces more sustainable. The Sustainable Facilities Tool makes it easy for both government and private–sector property managers to learn about sustainable practices and compare options for their renovation projects.
  • BOMA Conference Education: Held in June, BOMA’s annual conference features sessions on energy efficiency and green and sustainable practices.

  • BOMA BESt (Building Environmental Standards): A national program launched in 2005 by BOMA Canada to address an industry need for realistic standards for energy and environmental performance of existing buildings based on accurate, independently verified information.

  • BREEAM: For more than 25 years BREEAM has provided a model for the local assessment of master planning projects, infrastructure and buildings, driving success and improvement in sustainable construction and property.  Developed in 1990, BREEAM is a sustainability assessment method for buildings based on performance benchmarks.
