FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

OOMA JOINS BOMA INTERNATIONAL AS A SUPPORTING PARTNER

(WASHINGTON, D.C.—January 4, 2023) Ooma Inc., a cloud-based communications company based in California’s Silicon Valley, has joined the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International’s Partnership Program. Partners pledge to support BOMA’s critical work in advocacy, education and research.

“It’s my pleasure to welcome Ooma to the BOMA International Partnership Program,” said BOMA International Chair Randal L. Froebelius, BOMA Fellow, P.Eng. “BOMA is excited about this growing program, and we look forward to partnering with Ooma and other leading-edge companies on programs and resources that will help our members thrive.”

Program Includes Four Participation Levels

BOMA International’s Partnership Program, created in 2004, allows companies to invest in their own success, as well as that of the commercial real estate industry more broadly.

With four participation levels—Cornerstone Partner, Leadership Circle Partner, Supporting Partner and Ambassador Partner—the program demonstrates the commitment of leading organizations to support BOMA International with the resources to advance its various initiatives that benefit the entire commercial real estate industry.

Ooma is joining as a Supporting Partner, effective immediately, to help inform BOMA members about the upcoming “copper sunset” of legacy analog phone lines, also known as Plain Old Telephone Service, or POTS. The company also will highlight the challenges this change in phone lines presents for mission-critical building systems such as fire alarms, elevator phones, building entry systems and security panels.

Rising Costs, Decreasing Liability a Concern

“Our customers who work in building management are telling us more and more about rapidly increasing costs for their POTS lines and declining reliability,” said Jim Gustke, vice president for marketing at Ooma. “We look forward to helping BOMA members work through the process of POTS replacement without having to ‘rip and replace’ their legacy systems that rely on POTS lines.”

The company noted that Ooma AirDial is an innovative POTS replacement solution designed from the ground up to meet the needs of building owners and operators.
