BOMA International Elects 2018-2019 Officers

Brian D. Cappelli Elected Chair and Chief Elected Officer
(SAN ANTONIO – June 24, 2018) The Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International elected its 2018-2019 officers at the 2018 BOMA International Conference & Expo in San Antonio.
The Board of Governors of BOMA International elected:
Brian D. Cappelli, BOMA Fellow, RPA, Vice President, Asset Management, GBX Group LLC, Cleveland, as Chair and Chief Elected Officer for 2018-2019;
- Scott O. Jones, Vice President, Jacobs, San Francisco, as Chair-Elect;
- Shelby Christensen, Senior Vice President, Real Estate Operations, Liberty Property Trust, Malvern, Pennsylvania, as Vice Chair; and
- And continuing his two-year term (2017-2019) as Secretary/Treasurer, Keith Major, Executive Vice President, Real Estate Services, Bentall Kennedy (Canada) LP, Toronto.
Brian Cappelli, who served as BOMA International’s Chair-Elect for the 2017-2018 term, has more than two decades of experience in the commercial real estate industry, including roles at publicly traded REITs and private real estate investment firms focused on office, retail and mixed-use properties. He is currently vice president of Asset Management at GBX Group LLC, a firm focused on preserving historic real estate assets through transformative projects across the United States. He served two terms as president of BOMA/Greater Cleveland and for four years on BOMA Ohio’s Board of Governors. He also has served on numerous BOMA International committees, including the Asset Management Council, the Energy and Environment Committee and the Executive Committee, before becoming an officer in 2016.
Scott Jones currently serves as vice president for Jacobs. Prior to moving to California and becoming a member of BOMA/San Francisco, Jones was an active member of BOMA/Fort Worth, where he served as president. Jones was chair of both BOMA International’s State Government Affairs Committee and the Careers in Real Estate Task Force Returning Veterans Outreach Sub-Group. He also held the position of vice chair of the Research Committee and served two terms on BOMA International’s Executive Committee.
Shelby Christensen has more than 25 years of industry experience. She is senior vice president of Real Estate Operations for Liberty Property Trust, where she is responsible for risk, sustainability and the management of more than 100 million square feet of office and industrial real estate throughout the United States and United Kingdom. Christensen also serves as the chair of BOMA International’s National Advisory Council, and she previously served as co-chair of the Industrial Committee and as a member of the Executive Committee. She received BOMA International’s prestigious Chair’s Award in 2015.
Keith Major is executive vice president of Real Estate Services with Bentall Kennedy (Canada) LP in Toronto. Major is part of the senior leadership team for Bentall Kennedy and is responsible for the property management, operations, leasing and development activities undertaken by the company for their Canadian office and industrial portfolio. He currently serves as chair of the Finance Committee and as co-vice chair of the International Council. Prior to being elected Secretary/Treasurer in 2017, Major served on the BOMA International Executive Committee for four years.
