FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(WASHINGTON, D.C. — April 6, 2017) The Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International has announced the seven inaugural recipients of the BOMA Foundation’s J. Michael Coleman Scholarship. The scholarship covers registration and other associated costs for young or emerging professionals to attend BOMA International’s annual conference.
The scholarship, which will be awarded annually, is named in honor of longtime BOMA member Mike Coleman, BOMA Fellow, who retired recently after more than 30 years with AlliedBarton Security (now Allied Universal). During his long career, Coleman consistently supported the industry and served as a role model and mentor to many. He was an active member of BOMA/Philadelphia and served on the BOMA Foundation Board, BOMA International Executive Committee and in many other leadership roles. Coleman was named a BOMA Fellow, the highest honor awarded by BOMA International, in 2012, received the Chair’s Award in 2013 and was honored with a Distinguished Service Membership earlier this year.
The recipients of this year’s scholarship include:
- Lucinda Alipio, CBRE, BOMA/Oakland-East Bay;
- Melanie Bellinger, Copaken Brooks, BOMA/Kansas City;
- Mason Bodie, Stream Realty, BOMA/Dallas;
- Maggie Calloway, HPI Real Estate Services, BOMA/Austin;
- Grace Malinder, Cushman & Wakefield, BOMA/Philadelphia;
- Anh Truong, Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, BOMA/Boston; and

These seven individuals will receive the resources they need to attend the 2017 BOMA International Conference & Expo, being held June 24-27 in Nashville, Tennessee. Featuring invaluable networking opportunities, top-notch education sessions and insights from distinguished speakers, the conference offers the scholarship recipients a world-class experience to help them continue building successful careers in commercial real estate.
