Shelby Christensen and Eileen Lewis Honored with BOMA International Chair's Award

July 14, 2015

(WASHINGTON, D.C. – July 14, 2015) The Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International’s 2014-2015 Chair and Chief Elected Officer John Oliver, BOMA Fellow, recognized Shelby Christensen and Eileen M. Lewis, BOMA Fellow, RPA, FMA, with the Chair’s Award during the 2015 BOMA International Conference & Expo in Los Angeles in late June. The Chair’s Award is the highest recognition presented by the BOMA International Chair and is bestowed annually upon an individual or individuals who set new standards of excellence for the commercial real estate industry through innovation, talent and dedication.

“I am pleased to present the Chair’s Award to two people who have demonstrated exemplary leadership as co-chairs of BOMA International’s Industrial Committee,” commented Oliver, managing principal for Oliver & Company. “Shelby and Eileen built the Industrial Committee from the ground up and, in a very short period of time, helped create valuable education programs and offerings for industrial property owners and managers, as well as a critical benchmarking tool—the brand new Industrial Experience Exchange Report, which just launched earlier this summer. Thanks to the hard work of Eileen, Shelby and their productive committee, BOMA has positioned itself as an indispensable resource for this growing real estate sector.”

Shelby Christensen has more than 20 years of commercial real estate experience. She currently serves as senior vice president, director of Property Management, for Liberty Property Trust, where she is responsible for the management of 100 million square feet of office, flex and industrial real estate throughout the United States and United Kingdom. In addition to serving as co-chair of BOMA International’s Industrial Committee, Christensen serves as a member of the Executive Committee. She also is a long-time member of the National Advisory Council and Education Advisory Council.

As the Property Manager for Reliance Management’s Tucson division, Eileen Lewis is responsible for oversight of the Tucson industrial portfolio. During her more than 25 years in the commercial real estate industry, she has held numerous leadership positions both on the local level with BOMA/Greater Tucson and with BOMA International. She most recently served as the co-chair of BOMA International’s Industrial Committee, and she also previously served on BOMA International’s Executive Committee, Finance Committee and Government Affairs Committee.
