(WASHINGTON, D.C. – June 23, 2015) The Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International will be hosting students and veterans at its sixth annual Career Day on Monday, June 29, at the 2015 BOMA International Annual Conference & Expo. Career Day is designed to provide college students and veterans transitioning out of military service with valuable insight into potential careers in commercial real estate.

The schedule of events for Career Day includes educational sessions and a chance to explore the BOMA Every Building Expo. Participants will be assigned a mentor to accompany them throughout the day, making introductions to industry practitioners, answering questions and providing guidance.

Career Day will culminate in a networking reception, where participants will be joined by attendees of the Emerging Professionals in Commercial Real Estate Program. Designed for those who have recently taken the leap into a commercial real estate career, the program, which takes place Monday afternoon, will feature a panel of commercial real estate practitioners who will offer attendees insight into the industry and practical advice for managing their professional lives.

“BOMA International is pleased to offer these programs as part of its dedication to cultivating new talent within the industry,” commented BOMA International Chair John G. Oliver, BOMA Fellow, managing principal for Oliver & Company. “Whether you are a student, a veteran or just getting started in the industry, you can find a rewarding and meaningful career in commercial real estate.”

The 2015 BOMA International Annual Conference & Expo is commercial real estate’s most important event of the year. More than 450 exhibits by leading manufacturers and suppliers at the BOMA Every Building Expo will help attendees find solutions to operational challenges and strategies to enhance asset performance. This collaborative meeting brings together the best minds in the industry for more than 50 expert-led sessions across six education tracks on topics ranging from asset management strategies to best operational practices for office, industrial and mixed-use properties. At Monday’s General Session, “The Revitalization of Downtown LA,” a panel of experts will discuss the driving forces behind Los Angeles’ downtown renaissance and how other downtown districts can follow the city’s successful revitalization model. The conference also will feature a performance by one of most recognizable entertainers in the world, Jay Leno, who will kick off the Sunday General Session. Visit for more information.
