BOMA International Honors Two Outstanding Members at Annual Conference

(WASHINGTON, D.C. – July 29, 2014) The Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International honored two of its members with the Regional Member of the Year Award during the 2014 Every Building Conference & Expo in Orlando, Florida in late June.  Regional Member of the Year Awards are given annually to BOMA members who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment and contribution to both the association and the commercial real estate industry.
 
The recipients honored at this year’s annual conference were:
 
Kent Walling, BOMA/Greater Tampa Bay
BOMA Southern Region Member of the Year
 
Kent Walling is the Director of Operations for Central Florida at Taylor & Mathis.  Walling joined Taylor & Mathis in 1996 as an Assistant Property Manager at the Perimeter Center office park in Atlanta, Georgia.  In 1997, he was promoted to Property Manager for Buckhead Plaza, a 450,000 square foot office and retail project also located in Atlanta, and in 2000, he relocated to Tampa to serve as the Property Manager for Met Life’s 1.5 million square foot portfolio.  In 2003, Walling was promoted to his current position, in which he oversees the management of 3.6 million square feet of office, industrial and retail projects in Tampa Bay, Orlando and Jacksonville.
 
Past President of both BOMA/Greater Tampa Bay and the BOMA Southern Region, Walling was recognized for his high level of commitment to and involvement in the operational aspects of BOMA and the commercial real estate industry.  He has been active with national and state legislatures concerning commercial real estate issues.  Walling currently serves on the BOMA International Industrial Committee and as the BOMA Florida Sustainability Committee Chair.
 
T. Michael Pugh, RPA, BOMA/Dallas

T. Michael Pugh, senior property manager with CBRE, has been a BOMA/Dallas member since 1990.  His volunteer work has been extensive at the local, state and international levels, including: reviving the BOMA/Dallas Government Relations Committee; establishing contacts within Dallas City Hall and representing BOMA/Dallas on important issues; serving as a Board member for BOMA/Dallas and Texas BOMA; and participating on committees at the local and international levels, including the BOMA International Audit Committee.  Pugh has led advocacy visits for both the local and Washington, D.C.-based National Issues Conferences.
 
In 2011, he received the Committee Chair of the Year Award and, this year, he received the BOMA/Dallas Outstanding Member of the Year Award.  Pugh is a known leader and mentor within with the BOMA/Dallas community and among his peers at CBRE.
