July 10, 2013

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(WASHINGTON – July 10, 2013) The Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International’s 2012-2013 Chair and Chief Elected Officer Joe Markling recognized J. Michael Coleman, BOMA Fellow, with the Chair’s Award during the 2013 Every Building Conference & Expo, held June 23-26 in San Diego.  The Chair’s Award is the highest recognition presented by the BOMA International Chair and is bestowed annually upon an individual who—through innovation, talent and dedication—has set new standards of excellence for the commercial real estate industry.

“One of the perks of serving as Chair of BOMA International is the opportunity to recognize one of our own with the Chair’s Award,” said Markling, managing director of Strategic Accounts with CBRE.  “Mike has made valuable contributions over the years and has been a consistent, loyal supporter of BOMA International.  He has worked closely with BOMA at the local, regional and national level and epitomizes excellence in leadership and partnership.  He is always supportive and generous with his time and resources and passionate about building relationships, sharing knowledge with others and developing the next generation of industry leaders.”

Coleman currently serves as Vice President of Commercial Real Estate with AlliedBarton Security Services.  He has held numerous leadership positions within BOMA International, including serving as the first associate member on BOMA International’s Executive Committee.  He also served as Chair of the National Associate Member Committee and has been an active member of the Preparedness Committee, where he helped spearhead post-9/11 security outreach efforts.
