Joe Markling Elected Chair and Chief Elected Officer of BOMA International

(SEATTLE—June 24, 2012) Joseph W. Markling, managing director of strategic accounts, CBRE, has been named Chair and Chief Elected Officer of the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International. Markling was sworn in Sunday at the 2012 Every Building Conference & Expo in Seattle, Wash. His term runs through June 2013.

Markling has held senior positions at CBRE Investors and Lowe Enterprises Investors over the course of his 30 plus years in commercial real estate. As the managing director of CBRE’s Strategic Accounts Group, he oversees the RREEF Account, CBRE’s largest strategic account, which encompasses nearly 70 million square feet of office and industrial property located nationwide.

Within BOMA, Markling served as Chairman of the Government Affairs Committee of BOMA/Greater Los Angeles and as Chairman of the Board for BOMA/Greater Los Angeles. He also served on BOMA International’s Executive Committee, is active with BOMA/California and is a Board Member of the California Business Properties Association (CBPA).
