Fifteen Commercial Properties Win The Outstanding Building of the Year® Awards

BOMA International Honors the Best of the Best in Commercial Real Estate

 

(SEATTLE—June 27, 2012) The commercial real estate industry honored 15 commercial properties with The Outstanding Building of the Year® (TOBY) Award last night at the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International’s annual conference, held June 24-26  in Seattle, Washington

The TOBY winners were recognized for excellence in office building management and operations in specific categories of building size or type. To win the international award, the office buildings first won both local and regional competitions. Judging was based on community impact, tenant/employee relations programs, energy management systems, accessibility for disabled people, emergency evacuation procedures, building personnel training programs and overall quality indicators. A team of expert industry professionals also conducted a comprehensive building inspection.

The winners of the 2012 TOBY Awards include:

In the Corporate Facility category, the winner is 575 5th Avenue, New York, N.Y. The building is managed by Cushman & Wakefield, Inc. and is owned by the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company.

In the Earth category, the winner is USAA Phoenix Campus, Phoenix, Ariz. The property is owned and managed by USAA.

In the Government Building category, the winner is San Francisco Federal Building, San Francisco, Calif. The property is owned and managed by the General Services Administration.  

In the Historical Building category, the winner is The Rookery, Chicago, Il. The property is managed by the Buck Management Group LLC and owned by The Rookery, LP.

In the Industrial Office Park category, the winner is Turnpike Distribution Center Dallas, Texas. The property is managed by Holt Lunsford Commercial, Inc. and owned by Principal Real Estate Investors, LLC.

In the Medical Office Building category, the winner is Piedmont West Medical Office Park, Atlanta, Ga. The property is managed by Cassidy Turley and owned by Carter H.M. MOB I, LLC.

In the Renovated Building category, the winner is Jamboree Center, Irvine, Calif. The property is owned and managed by Irvine Company.

In the Suburban Office Park Low–Rise category, the winner is San Gabriel Valley Corporate Campus, Irwindale, Calif. The property is managed by CBRE and owned by MetLife Real Estate Investments.

In the Suburban Office Park Mid-Rise category, the winner is Waterway Plaza I & II, The Woodlands, Texas. The property is managed by Daymark Realty Advisors, Inc. and owned by NNN Waterway Plaza, LLC.

In the buildings Under 100,000 Square Feet category, the winner is Rochelle Park, Irving, Texas. The property is managed by Parmenter Realty Partners and owned by Parmenter Rochelle Park, LP.

In the 100,000 to 249,999 Square Feet category, the winners are 200 Kimball Drive, Fairfield, N.J. and URS Center, Denver, Colo. 200 Kimball Drive is managed by Grubb & Ellis Management Services and owned by 200 Kimball Drive, LLC. URS Center is managed by Westcore Properties and owned by Westcore Carson Tufts, LLC, Westcore Orchard Tufts, LLC, Westcore Vasona Tufts, LLC.

In the 250,000 to 499,999 Square Feet category, the winner is 1625 Eye Street, Washington, DC.  The property is owned and managed by Brookfield Office Properties.

In the 500,000 to One Million Square Feet category, the winner is Georgia Power Headquarters, Atlanta, Ga. The property is managed by Cassidy Turley and owned by Georgia Power.

In the Over One Million Square Feet category, the winner is Hyatt Center, Chicago, IL. The property is managed by Jones Long LaSalle and owned by Irvine Company.
