April 18, 2011

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(WASHINGTON—April 18, 2011) Kimberly-Clark Professional, a business unit of global health and hygiene leader Kimberly-Clark Corporation, has signed on to sponsor The Outstanding Building of the Year® (TOBY) Awards for the next four years. The TOBY Awards, awarded by the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International, recognize office buildings for excellence in management in operations. Kimberly-Clark has supported BOMA International´s crucial industry programs at the highest level as a Cornerstone Partner for more than a decade.

“Kimberly-Clark Professional has long been a supporter of BOMA, our members and the industry at large, and we are elated to announce their sponsorship of the TOBY Awards,” remarked BOMA International Chair Ray H. Mackey, Jr., RPA, CPM, CCIM, partner and chief operating officer, Stream Realty Partners, L.P. “The TOBY Awards are seen as the ‘Oscars’ of commercial buildings, recognizing the very best-run buildings. Kimberly-Clark Professional’s support will help us enhance the TOBY program and ensure that it remains the industry’s highest form of recognition.”

“We are excited to be sponsoring the TOBY Awards for the next four years,” said Peter Leahy, Office Building Marketing Manager for Kimberly-Clark Professional.  “This, combined with our Cornerstone Partnership, further demonstrates our commitment to working with building owners and managers to develop innovative and sustainable solutions that meet the needs of the commercial real estate industry now and in the future.”

The TOBY awards honor excellence in office building management and operations in specific categories of building size and type. To win the international award, the buildings must first win both local and regional competitions. Judging is based on community impact, tenant/employee relations programs, energy management systems, accessibility for disabled people, emergency evacuation procedures, building personnel training programs and overall quality indicators. A team of expert industry professionals also conduct comprehensive building inspections.

Kimberly-Clark Professional is dedicated to providing essential solutions for a healthier, safer and more productive workplace.  These include a unique portfolio of innovative, cost-effective and sustainable offerings for office buildings.  Kimberly–Clark Professional has long been known to BOMA members as a leader in providing distinctive hand hygiene and tissue systems for office buildings, including such trusted brands as Kleenex, Scott, Wypall, Jackson Safety and Kimtech, and pioneering products such as the Electronic Coreless JRT Bath Tissue Dispenser, Coreless Bath Tissue, Jumbo Roll Bath Tissue and Scottfold Towels.  Kimberly-Clark Professional workplace products include safety apparel, gloves and related accessories as well as disposable task-engineered wipers.
