BOMA International and OSCRE Sign Memorandum of Understanding

May 17, 2011

(WASHINGTON—May 17, 2011) The Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International and the Open Standards Consortium for Real Estate (OSCRE) recently signed a memorandum of understanding with the common goal of advancing the interoperability among information systems that exchange real estate related information.

BOMA and OSCRE have a common interest in several issues that will benefit the commercial real estate industry. Both parties have agreed to exchange information, participate in the other’s events, seek each other’s views in the development of new products, collaborate on data standards development in order to take advantage of work already accomplished, and develop special agreements for the promotion and distribution of each other’s products and services, among other goals.

“OSCRE has led the charge when it comes to developing standards for technological systems in our industry and we look forward to strengthening our relationship,” commented BOMA International Chair Ray H. Mackey, Jr., RPA, CPM, CCIM, partner and chief operating officer, Stream Realty Partners, L.P. “Our collaboration will allow us to work together on a variety of initiatives that will enhance the productivity of commercial real estate professionals.”

“BOMA has long been a leader in providing property professionals with the information and resources they need to perform better,” remarked Catherine Williams, OSCRE Chief Executive. “Our partnership will help make real estate information systems interoperable, making members of our industry even more effective.”
