BOMA International Elects 2011-2013 Executive Committee Members

​(WASHINGTON – June 30, 2011) The Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International elected five new executive committee members earlier this week at the 2011 BOMA International Conference and The Every Building Show, June 26-27 in Washington, D.C.

The BOMA International Executive Committee is responsible for developing the strategic direction and policies for the association. Executive Committee members work with BOMA International officers and executive staff to maximize the effectiveness of BOMA International, while ensuring resources are available to achieve its goals. Executive Committee members serve a minimum term of two years.

The Board of Governors of BOMA International has elected the following individuals to the Executive Committee:

  • Steven J. Hrbek, RPA, senior real estate manager, CB Richard Ellis, BOMA/Suburban Chicago
  • Scott O. Jones, PE, manager of projects, Principal, Jacobs Engineering Group-Global Buildings, BOMA/Fort Worth
  • Katya Naman, senior vice president, Lowe Enterprises, BOMA/Metropolitan Washington
  • Laura T. Ragans, RPA, property manager, Manulife Financial, BOMA/Orlando
  • John K. Scott, RPA, director, Corporate Occupier & Investor Services, Cushman & Wakefield of Florida, Inc., BOMA/Miami Dade

As Senior Real Estate Manager for CB Richard Ellis, Hrbek is responsible for managing a 320,000-square foot complex in Downers Grove, Ill., where he oversees operations, budgeting, employee supervision, collections and corporate reporting. He currently serves as chair of BOMA International’s BOMAPAC committee. He is active in BOMA/Suburban Chicago, having served as vice president in 2010 and as secretary treasurer from 2006 to 2009.

In his role as Manager of Projects, Principal, Jones is responsible for the Commercial and Aviation facility design projects in the Southwest Region of the Buildings Division at Jacobs Engineering Group-Global Buildings. Jones served as president of BOMA/Fort Worth from 2008 to 2010 and as director of Texas BOMA from 2008 to 2011. He is also the 2011-2012 chair of BOMA International’s State Government Affairs Committee.

With more than 20 years of experience in commercial real estate, Naman is currently a senior vice president of Lowe Enterprises Real Estate Group, a diversified national real estate company. She served as president of BOMA/Metropolitan Washington in 2010 and was a member of the 2011 BOMA International Conference Planning Committee. She also co-presented the session, “The State of the Real Estate Market” at the 2010 BOMA Foundation Thought Leaders Symposium.

As a Property Manager with Manulife Financial, Ragans manages Westwood Corporate Center, a five building suburban office park in Orlando, Fla. Ragans will be serving her second consecutive term on the BOMA International Executive Committee. She served as president of BOMA/Orlando and BOMA’s Southern Region. In addition to her role on the Executive Committee, she has also served on BOMA International’s Careers in Real Estate Task Force, the Awards Committee, Government Affairs committee and State Government Affairs Committee.

As Director of Cushman & Wakefield’s Florida Client Solutions Group, Scott is responsible for the oversight of Cushman & Wakefield’s management and leasing of commercial buildings and corporate facilities totaling more than 11 million square feet in South Florida. He has served as President of BOMA/Miami-Dade, BOMA/Florida and the BOMA Southern Region. He is a member of BOMA International’s Government Affairs Committee and the Sustainability and Market Initiatives Task Force.
