Top Notch Buildings Earn BOMA 360 Designation for Exceeding Quality Benchmarks

May 18, 2010

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(WASHINGTON—May 18, 2010) The Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International today announced the latest class of buildings to earn the BOMA 360 Performance Program designation. The BOMA 360 Performance Program is a groundbreaking new program designed to recognize commercial properties that demonstrate best practices in building operations and management. The new designees join the growing number of best-in-class buildings to receive the BOMA 360 designation since its inception a year ago.

“The BOMA 360 designation signifies that a building’s management team is exceeding quality benchmarks in all major aspects of building management and operations,” commented BOMA International Chair James A. Peck, RPA, FMA, senior director of asset services, CB Richard Ellis. “These designees are the best of the best and have gained industry-wide recognition to prove it. Owners, investors, tenants and other stakeholders can rest assured knowing that these buildings are performing at the highest level.”

The BOMA 360 Performance Program evaluates properties on six major areas of building management: building operations and management; life safety/security/risk management; training and education; energy; environment/sustainability; and tenant relations/community involvement. The comprehensive nature of the BOMA 360 Performance Program means that every aspect of building performance is assessed and scores are based on how buildings meet an extensive checklist of best practices. The program comes at a critical time, as building owners and managers are looking to differentiate themselves from competition in a distressed market.
