Security Concerns in the Aftermath of the Paris Attacks (11/19/2015)

In the aftermath of the senseless acts of violence that took place in Paris over the weekend, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has continued to carefully monitor intelligence in the United States. While there are no credible threats to the commercial real estate industry at this time, the agency has encouraged property professionals to remain vigilant and look for ways to increase security, especially when hosting large public events. In addition, businesses that work with European government entities or have strong connections abroad should take additional precautions as necessary.

BOMA International’s Emergency Preparedness Committee would like to remind members to visit the Federal Resources webpage for more information on the "If You See Something, Say Something" campaign (please log in to access). In addition, members are encouraged to reach out to BOMA International's Manager of Advocacy Dylan Isenberg at disenberg@boma.org to sign up for alerts from the Real Estate Information Sharing & Analysis Center (RE-ISAC), which offers security updates geared towards the real estate community.
