Fourteen Commercial Properties Win The Office Building of the Year (TOBY) Awards

BOMA International Honors Distinguished Properties
(PHILADELPHIA—July 1, 2009) The commercial real estate industry honored 14 commercial properties with The Office Building of the Year (TOBY) Award at the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International’s annual conference and The Office Building Show held June 28–30 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
The TOBY winners were recognized for excellence in office building management and operations in specific categories of building size or type. To win the international award, the office buildings first won both local and regional competitions. Judging was based on community impact, tenant/employee relations programs, energy management systems, accessibility for disabled people, emergency evacuation procedures, building personnel training programs and overall quality indicators. A team of expert industry professionals also conducted a comprehensive building inspection.
The winners of the 2009–2010 TOBY Awards in the 14 categories:
- In the Renovated Building category, the winner is 100 Park Avenue, New York, New York. The property is managed by SL Green Realty Corp., and is owned by SL Green Realty Corp. and Prudential Real Estate Investors.
- In the Historical Building category, the winner is Toronto College Park, Toronto, Ontario. The property is managed by GWL Realty Advisors Inc. and is owned by Toronto College Park Ltd.
- In the Corporate Facility category, the winner is Citi Campus–Jacksonville, Jacksonville, Florida. The building is managed by Grubb & Ellis Management Services, Inc. and is owned by Citicorp Credit Services, Inc.
- In the Medical Office Building category, the winner is Arnold Pavilion, Seattle, Washington. The property is managed by CB Richard Ellis and is owned by 1221 Madison Street Owners Association.
- In the Government Building category, the winner is Sandra Day O’Connor United States Courthouse, Phoenix, Arizona. The property is owned and managed the U.S. General Services Administration.
- In the Suburban Office Park Low–Rise category, the winner is Carlson Center, Minnetonka, Minnesota. The property is owned and managed by Carlson Real Estate Company.
- In the Suburban Office Park Mid-Rise category, the winner is Pearson Corporate Centre, Toronto, Ontario. The property is managed by Bentall Limited Partnership and is owned by Westpen Properties Ltd.
- In the Industrial Office Park category, the winner is Crosstown North Business Center, Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. The property is owned and managed by Duke Realty Corporation.
- In the buildings Under 100,000 Square Foot category, the winner is West 101 Gateway, Phoenix, Arizona. The property is managed by Opus West Management Corporation and is owned by Opus Real Estate AZ VII WG, L.L.C.
- In the 100,000 to 249,999 Square Foot category, the winner is the Whole Foods Market World Headquarters Building, Austin, Texas. The property is managed by Schlosser Development Corp. and is owned by LSA/WF Project Ltd.
- In the 250,000 to 499,999 Square Foot category, the winner is 601 Tower, Minnetonka, Minnesota. The property is managed by CB Richard Ellis and is owned by TIAA–CREF.
- In the 500,000 to One Million Square Foot category, the winner is MGM Tower, Los Angeles, California. The property is managed by JMB Real Estate Services, Inc. and is owned by Constellation Place, LLC.
- In the Over One Million Square Foot category, the winner is Fifth Street Towers, Minneapolis, Minnesota. The property is managed by Carter and is owned by Strategic Real Estate Advisors.
- The Earth Award winner is Heifer International, Little Rock, Arkansas. The property is managed by Heifer International–Facilities Management Team and owned by Heifer International.
