BOMA International's Advocacy Efforts Are Energized
BOMA International’s lobbying efforts have resulted in many recent victories for the commercial real estate industry. The passage of the Protecting Americans from Tax Hikes (PATH) Act of 2015 included a permanent extension of the 15-year depreciation on qualified leasehold improvements, BOMA’s top tax priority; fixes to the Foreign Investment in Real Property Tax Act (FIRPTA); and a straight two-year extension of the energy efficiency deduction for commercial buildings.
While these are important victories, there are many issues left to address in 2017 and beyond. Now is the time to get involved and get energized! Advocacy is a contact sport: mobilize your grassroots membership, call your legislators, visit their local offices, use your Legislative Action Center and write a letter.
