Senior Fellow, Pew Research Center
Author, The Next America: Boomers, Millennials and the Looming Generational Showdown
The United States is in the midst of two profound demographic transformations:
the population is on its way to becoming majority non-white, driven by
the largest immigration wave in history, at the same time a record share
is going gray. These changes have created huge generation gaps. Young and
old don’t look alike, think alike, vote alike, or use technology
alike. Author Paul Taylor, a senior fellow at Pew Research Center,
explores how these changes are profoundly shaping our country in his book The
Next America. Join us at the keynote luncheon on Sunday, where he’ll share
his insights and conclusions on what a changing America means for families,
politics, the economy, workplaces and the country's sense of social cohesion.
Taylor is a former Washington Post reporter who covered national politics and
served as a foreign correspondent. He also previously oversaw Pew Research
Center’s demographic, social, and generational research.
