Lasertech Floorplans Named Official Interpreter of
BOMA International’s Floor Measurement Standards
WASHINGTON, D.C.—The Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International has named Lasertech Floorplans as the exclusive consultant for interpretations of the BOMA floor measurement standards.
BOMA has a long history of developing and promulgating standards for measuring space in office buildings. The latest version of this standard is the BOMA/ANSI Z65.1-1996 Standard Method for Measuring Floor Area in Office Buildings. BOMA has also partnered with the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) to produce the BOMA/SIOR Standard Method for Measuring Floor Area in Industrial Buildings. Both of these standards are widely used in the marketplace and BOMA receives frequent calls related to these documents.
Lasertech Floorplans will field all inquiries on BOMA’s standards including those forwarded from BOMA staff, directly contacted by phone, or through links on the BOMA or Lasertech Web sites. BOMA members and others utilizing this service will also receive interpretations and/or answers to questions on the BOMA standards. All calls that can be answered within approximately 10 minutes will be provided at no cost.
“This agreement brings significant added value to our members and others who have come to rely on BOMA’s measurement standards,” said BOMA International Chairman and Chief Elected Officer Steven W. Ford, senior managing director, facilities management, Cushman & Wakefield, East Rutherford, N.J. “BOMA offices receive a high volume of inquiries about the standards, and now we can refer those questions to Lasertech Floorplans, one of the most respected industry providers of floor measurement services.”
“We at Lasertech Floorplans look forward to assisting BOMA members and other industry participants with using these floor measurement standards to their full advantage” said Steve Orser, president of Lasertech Floorplans. “We will also bring educational seminars to local BOMAs throughout the United States and Canada at their request.”
