BOMA International Elects 2019-2020 Officers

Scott Jones Elected Chair and Chief Elected Officer

(SALT LAKE CITY– June 23, 2019) The Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International elected its 2019-2020 officers at the 2019 BOMA International Conference & Expo in Salt Lake City.

The Board of Governors of BOMA International elected:

  • Scott O. Jones, Vice President, Jacobs, San Francisco, as Chair and Chief Elected Officer for 2019-2020;
  • Shelby Christensen, LEED Green Associate, Senior Vice President, Operations, Liberty Property Trust, Malvern, Pennsylvania, as Chair-Elect;
  • Mark Dukes, BOMA Fellow, CCIM, RPA,Vice President, Asset Management, Physicians Realty Trust, Atlanta, as Vice Chair; and
  • Beginning his second two-year term as Secretary/Treasurer, Keith Major, CPM, Executive Vice President, Real Estate Services, Bentall Kennedy (Canada) LP, Toronto.

Scott Jones, who served as BOMA International’s Chair-Elect for the 2018-2019 term, has more than two decades of industry experience. He currently serves as vice president for Jacobs, managing the Northern California region for the Buildings, Infrastructure division. Prior to moving to California and becoming a member of BOMA/San Francisco, Jones was an active member of BOMA/Fort Worth, where he served as president. Jones was chair of both BOMA International’s State Government Affairs Committee and the Careers in Real Estate Task Force Returning Veterans Outreach Sub-Group. He also held the position of vice chair of the Research Committee and served two terms on BOMA International’s Executive Committee.

Shelby Christensen, who served as BOMA International’s Vice Chair for the 2018-2019 term, has more than 25 years of industry experience. She is senior vice president of Operations for Liberty Property Trust’s 106 million square feet of office and industrial real estate throughout the United States and United Kingdom. Christensen is responsible for portfolio operations, risk management, sustainability, capital expenses, tenant improvements, business processes, operational metrics, national marketing and general and administrative expenses.Christensen also serves as the chair of BOMA International’s National Advisory Council, and she previously served as co-chair of the Industrial Committee and as a member of the Executive Committee. She received BOMA International’s prestigious Chair’s Award in 2015.

Mark Dukes is vice president of Asset Management at Physicians Realty Trust, where he oversees all operations for a 187-building portfolio of healthcare assets, located in 30 states. His core responsibilities include asset management, property management, client relations and customer satisfaction. Dukes is a past president of BOMA/Georgia and also served as chair of BOMA International’s Asset Management Committee. His efforts have earned him the 2016 BOMA/Georgia Huey Award and the 2016 BOMA Southern Region Member of the Year Award. Dukes just completed a two-year term on the BOMA International Executive Committee and was named a BOMA Fellow in 2018.

Keith Major is executive vice president of Real Estate Services with Bentall Kennedy (Canada) LP in Toronto. Major is part of Bentall Kennedy’s senior leadership team, overseeing property management, operations, leasing and development for the company’s Canadian office and industrial portfolio. He currently serves as chair of the Finance Committee and was co-vice chair of the International Council. Prior to being elected Secretary/Treasurer in 2017, Major served on the BOMA International Executive Committee for four years.
