Largest Healthcare Real Estate Conference in the U.S. Coming to Minneapolis

April 3, 2019

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(WASHINGTON, D.C. – April 3, 2019) The Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International’s 2019 Medical Office Buildings + Healthcare Real Estate Conference, the largest annual conference in the United States dedicated to healthcare real estate, will be held in downtown Minneapolis on May 1-3, 2019. This will be the first time the conference will be in Minnesota, an indication of the state’s growth as a healthcare leader.

BOMA International’s conference attracts more than 1,300 healthcare real estate professionals from across the country, including health system executives, developers, investors, lenders, property and facility managers, architects and more. Participants consider the annual gathering to be the industry’s premier education, networking and business development event.

The conference explores the rapidly evolving environment of healthcare delivery and the current issues and trends effecting the development, leasing and management of healthcare facilities. More than 25 education sessions are offered and grouped into education tracks that include capital markets; compliance and regulation; facility design; leasing and management; and healthcare provider strategies. In addition to the education program, networking receptions and events are built into the schedule.

The program will feature keynote presentations on notable real estate developments in Minnesota, including the Destination Medical Center (DMC) in Rochester, Minnesota. With the Mayo Clinic at its heart, the DMC is the largest public-private economic development initiative in Minnesota’s history. Also featured will be the Viking Lakes campus in Eagan, Minnesota, where Twin Cities Orthopedics (TCO) has partnered with the NFL’s Minnesota Vikings on the team’s new home and world-class indoor training facility, the TCO Performance Center and the TCO Stadium. There will also be a panel of Minneapolis-area health system executives discussing local market trends.

“The greater Minneapolis area is renowned as a global destination for health innovation and care, making it a fitting backdrop for healthcare real estate’s largest and most important annual gathering,” said BOMA International Chair Brian D. Cappelli, BOMA Fellow, RPA, vice president of Asset Management for GBX Group LLC. “In today’s rapidly evolving marketplace, there’s no better place to stay on top of the current topics and challenges in this industry than at BOMA’s Medical Office Buildings + Healthcare Real Estate Conference.”
