The energy challenge facing the United States and Canada is real and impacts all BOMA members across North America in one way or another. Though we may not all face the daily threats of blackouts that plague parts of California, we all encounter the common problems of rising energy prices and the threat of instability of our energy supply. Even worse, experts predict that many other major urban centers will face serious electricity shortages within the next few years.
The time to seek answers and implement solutions is now. BOMA International's Board of Governors unanimously passed an energy policy that calls on all members to take voluntary steps to reduce their energy consumption and calls on the federal government to address energy supply and reliability issues. Congress and the Bush Administration must enact a national energy policy that ensures all consumers have access to adequate supplies of reasonably priced energy.
