BOMA International Elects 2008/2009 Officers

Dick Purtell Elected Chairman and Chief Elected Officer

DENVER—June 22, 2008) The Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International elected its 2008/2009 officers at the BOMA International Conference and The Office Building Show, held June 22-24 in Denver.

The Board of Governors of BOMA International elected Richard D. Purtell, RPA, portfolio manager, Grubb & Ellis Management Services, Inc., BOMA/Greater Cincinnati as Chairman and Chief Elected Officer for 2008-2009. Other officers elected were: Chairman-Elect James A. Peck, RPA, FMA, senior director, asset services, CB Richard Ellis, BOMA/New Mexico; Vice Chairman Ray H. Mackey, Jr., RPA, CPM, CCIM, chief operating officer and partner, Stream Realty Partners, L.P., Dallas BOMA; and Secretary/Treasurer David M. Stucky, building manager and special projects coordinator, City of San Diego, BOMA/San Diego.

Purtell joined Triple Net Properties in the fall of 2006.  Following the merger of NNN Realty Advisors, the parent company of Triple Net Properties, and Grubb & Ellis Company in Dec. 2007, Purtell transitioned to Grubb & Ellis Management Services. Prior to that he spent two years as a vice president with The Andalex Group, five years as a vice president for Lowe Enterprises Midwest, Inc. in Cincinnati, 19 years with the Galbreath Company in Columbus and Cincinnati and two years with Jones Lang LaSalle in Cincinnati.

Purtell has been an active member of BOMA International at the local, regional and international levels since 1982. He served as president of BOMA/Greater Cincinnati (1990-1991); president of Ohio BOMA (1994-1995 and 2006-2007); BOMA International Executive Committee member and president of BOMA International's North Central Region (1995-1999); chair of the Industry Defense Fund Committee and as secretary/treasurer of BOMA International (2002-2005).

In his position as senior director in CB Richard Ellis' Albuquerque office, Peck oversees the Asset Services department, which manages more than 2.7 million square feet of office, industrial and retail space in New Mexico. Peck has been in commercial real estate for more than 20 years. He has held positions in corporate real estate, building management, leasing and construction in California, Texas and New Mexico.

Peck has been a member of BOMA since 1986 when he joined BOMA/Sacramento. He has been a member of BOMA/New Mexico since 1992 where he was president from 1996-1997 and is currently Government Affairs Chair. He has served on several BOMA International committees, including the Brokerage and Leasing Committee, Suburban and Industrial SIG, State Government Affairs Committee, Telecommunications Task Force, the Industry Defense Fund Oversight Committee and the Executive Committee.

In his position as chief operating officer at Stream Realty Partners, Mackey has grown his portfolio from 750,000 square feet of commercial space to more than 45 million square feet, and has increased revenues by more than 1000 percent. Before joining Stream, Mackey worked for Trammell Crow Company, Rostland Property Management Company, Texas Instruments and the United States Air Force.

Mackey has been a BOMA member since 1984. He has served as president of Dallas BOMA, director of the Texas BOMA Board of Directors, and president of Texas BOMA. He has been active in numerous committees at BOMA International, chairing the Education Committee, the Education Advisory Council, the Nominating Committee and the Reinventing Major Meetings Task Force. He has been a member of the BOMA International Executive Committee for two terms.

In addition to overseeing the operation of San Diego's portfolio of commercial office buildings, Dave Stucky has, among other special projects, led the effort to implement energy efficiency projects in city-owned facilities, developed departmental organizational development plans and coordinated the creation of a standard access control protocol for more than 300 city facilities. He also sits on the San Diego Homeland Preparedness Coordination Council and the city's Energy Conservation Board.

Stucky has served as the chair of the Awards and Industry Defense Fund Oversight Committees of BOMA International and as a member of the Finance Committee, Recapitalization Task Force, Government Affairs Committee, Nominating Committee and Board of Governors. He was president and a member of the board of directors of BOMA/San Diego where he also chaired the Government Affairs, Awards and Nominating committees. At BOMA California, he served on the board of directors and chaired the Strategic Long Range Planning Task Force.
