BOMA International to Release Office Building Performance Data

The office building market reported a slight increase in occupancy last year, a three percent reduction in total operating expenses, and a 5 percent increase in Net Operating Income (NOI). These and many more detailed indicators of commercial real estate performance will be announced during the release of the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International’s 2005 Experience Exchange Report (EER): Operating a Cost Effective Office Building, Your Guide to Income and Expense Data. This highly anticipated benchmarking data will be released June 24, 2005 at BOMA’s North American Commercial Real Estate Congress and The Office Building Show in Anaheim, California.

The 2005 EER data is from calendar year 2004 and is the weighted average report from over 5,000 buildings across North America. This edition represents nearly one billion square feet of commercial office space, making it the most reliable source of benchmarking information in the industry.

Now in its 85th year, the EER continues to be the most detailed and reputable source of building performance data representing the office building industry. It is the industry standard for commercial property financial data and operations information, covering more buildings in more geographic areas than any other publication available. Since 1920, the EER has provided building professionals with a diverse collection of data analyses ranging from national cross-tabulations and special studies to city analyses for 131 different North American markets.

The 2005 EER will be available in CD-ROM, online network, and traditional printed formats. Data from the electronic versions are now exportable to Excel or to a PDF. Purchase your copy from BOMA International or from a local BOMA association office. The cost of the CD-ROM version to BOMA members is $300 and $400 to nonmembers. The printed version costs $160 to BOMA members and $350 to nonmembers. To pre-order your copy of the 2005 Experience Exchange Report, please call (800) 426-6292.

Founded in 1907, the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International is a dynamic international federation of over 100 local associations. The 19,000-plus members of BOMA International own or manage over 9 billion square feet of downtown and suburban commercial properties and facilities in North America and abroad. BOMA’s mission is to enhance the human, intellectual and physical assets of the commercial real estate industry through advocacy, education, research, standards and information.
