In her role as managing director of national property management at USAA Real Estate Company, Walraven oversees property management and operations of a national portfolio of approximately 35 million square feet. She understands the importance of driving improved customer service and satisfaction, and directs national efforts that have resulted in USAA Realty Company team members driving better than 95 percent tenant satisfaction over the last eight years, a company record. She has been instrumental in the development and implementation of a national energy and environmental strategy that has resulted in USAA winning five Energy Star Partner of the Year Awards, most recently for Sustained Excellence in Energy Management March 2007 – the first real estate company to achieve five straight Energy Star Awards.

Active in BOMA for over 20 years, Walraven is immediate past chair of the BOMA Energy Efficiency Program (BEEP) Task Force and actively supports the industry wide efforts to improve the financial and environmental performance of real estate assets through improved energy efficiency. She also serves on the board of directors for the Real Estate Roundtable, as chair of the BOMA/Orange County Advisory Board, sits on the board of directors for BOMA California and was BOMA/Orange County president in 2003 and 2004. She presently serves on California Governor Schwarzenegger’s Real Estate Industry Leadership Council and on the Department of Energy and US Environmental Protection Agency’s National Leadership Group in the development of a National Energy Efficiency Action Plan.

Walraven has written numerous articles and participated in numerous speaking engagements on everything from operational excellence, tenant satisfaction to energy efficiency, environmental stewardship and leadership. She earned a bachelor’s degree and an MBA from the University of Southern California, has California Real Estate Broker’s license and has attained the industry designations Real Property Administrator and Certified Property Manager.
